Hujung tahun datang lagi dan kali ini di minggu pertama Disember, majlis makan malam datang lagi , tepatnya pada 7 Disember 2023. Dengan tradisi makanan, persembahan dan penghargaan dan tentunya cabutan bertuah. Telah kucadangkan untuk menjemput artis lokal untuk menghibur, namun masalah kewangan selalu membatasi maka hiburan datang dengan adanya pertandingan karaoke.

Majlis bermula seawal 7.30 malam dan berlanjutan hingga ke 11.30 malam dengan penyampaian penghargaan, cabutan bertuah dan aktiviti nyanyian. Aktiviti ini termasuklah penghargaan kepada para mahasiswa yang mendapat keputusan sebagai Kelas Pertama.

Teruja kerana inilah pertama kali hadir setelah menjadi ahli MAJAS- (Malaysian Japanese Association) yang telah wujud lama di Malaysia. Diadakan ditempat di mana terdapatnya sarjana yang mengkaji berkaitan ilmu Asia Timur. Itulah dia Pusat Pengajian Asia Timur, Universiti Malaya.

Being viral for the purposed of marketing are related to the consumer and potential of return. But now days, with the variety of media social, being viral has potential for many purposed and from many reason. According to Dianthe & Iskandar (2016):
"Viral term referred to quick sharable content from one to another. Viral video may define as widespread of popular video with get at least 100,000 views and quickly shared to other through email, instant messages, and media sharing website (Wallsten, 2010)."
To analyze the reason of viral Dianthe & Iskandar (2016) explained: " Lots of reason behind video becomes viral has been studied by expertise.
Pirouz et al. (2015) has mentioned humor, amazing and disgusting contents drive higher views. Further, content of video which has maximized the influence of strong emotion evoked is likely to go viral (Izawa,2010; Berger & Milkman, 2011; Guadagno et al., 2013).
The entertaining, informative or intense, related to trend or event, attracting audience's desire to serve others- express individual, communicative among others, and thanked by others are the keys in making contents for video, thus it would go viral (Izawa, 2010; Unruly, 2015).
Relates to emotional response given to viral video, Unruly (2015) explicate the positive and negative emotions which likely aroused.
Positive emotions which mentioned are warmth, happiness, hilarity, and surprise, whereas the negative emotions such as confusion, contempt, anger, and disgust. Concisely, previous studies agreed that emotions are playing important role in making videos viral. Video which have intense emotional prompt more sharing and high numbers of views.
On the other hand, previous research also found the elements that make video become viral. West in 2011 then explored more about the elements of video that might drive it to viral. The findings of them shows there are several elements that make video goes viral which are Duration, Element of Laughter, Element of Irony, Element of Surprise, Presence of Musical Qualities, and Presence of Celebrity.
Without any intention to be viral, our First Lecture for this new semester 2023-2024 become viral with the 17 second video in Tik Tok which achieve more than 1 MILLION viewer during 3 days.

The 13th International Malaysian Studies Conference (MSC13) coming again next month on August, 15-16 in Negeri Sembilan host by UiTM Seremban. After few years become a presenter since 2008 (MSC 6), and MSC 12 via online, the spirit of Social Science are still burning inside.
Maintain the interest on Labour
For that, the feeling and memories of MSC are always be remember and each of them are special especially the first one. "with the intention to attend without worries about the content, my paper as accepted to be included as a panel back to 2008 as a panelist by UPEP." and during the presentations in School, our senior faculty give various of feedback. As a new comers, i'm just smile and try to be happy and make an improvement of the paper and finally fly to Sarawak.
And after more than 15 years, the feeling are still in there:

Realized or not, suddenly we become a senior but feeling empty when we not able to prepare for new generation to attend the event. maybe it's not important following the current trend more to publication in well known journal.

After many years been awarded grant for 'CONDUCTING RESEARCH' and time fly with no excuse, you need to FINISH what you start. Looking back to 2019 when first time awarded a grant from KPT to investigate our subject under fundamental research grant. What is fundamental? its about to engaged with the matter of knowledge (theory, concept), new or redefined existing one.
wHAT IS RESEARCH?
let's find the meaning from the word itself. RE and SEARCH . It's literally a process of SEACRCHING and when we keep doing it, IT become RE SEARCH. This process will continues especially about theory and concept. That's why we are provide with other grant to continue the SEARCHING PROCESS as our main business besides teaching and learning to do research for the better of life.
The challenge start, when the grant are not successfully spend based on the proposal as proposed for the sponsorship and the KPT start to QNA on every single ringgit. Beside that, they also ask for the OUTPUT especially the number of PUBLICATION and don't forget the NUMBER OF TALENT produce.
Ideally, all this are easy to achieve, supposedly based on the normal process. When you get the grant, you already can start the research follow you activity and 'gantt chart'. First, you need to recruited RA or GRA, so they can learn and help to complete the research and off course they are registered as a graduate student and will graduate 2 years later. During that time, you supposed to closed this research and continue to the next grant based on you finding. that's the ideal but in reality...they need to answer and we are sharing the experience with taklimat pemantauan.
but after many years, taklimat dan pemantauan, the ideally research process are behind and far from reality, many researcher are struggle especially the money given are not been spend. Here the amount more than a million and can't do anything. Something must be done...

The Higher Institution Centers of Excellence (HICoE) is a program under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) implemented by the Department of Higher Education to drive research excellence of HEIs in the field of niche research. Through this program, JPT award a HICoE rating to a high -performing Center of Excellence (CoE) in the field of niche research.
The awarded HICoE had an impact on the production of new research talent, the publication of high - impact journals as well as the production of innovations that can benefit academia, industry, government, the community and the environment. Periodic performance monitoring will be implemented to ensure implementation in line with the objectives of the HICoE program as well as as a basis for the subsequent disbursement of HICoE research funds
All this, consume a lot of expenses and need to be monitoring and the bureaucracy start to taken place especially when involve many stake holder. so, during 2 to 3 years, besides need to handle the research, you need to handle this process.
Finally, some of the researcher are facing the reality to be 'blacklist' as they are not perform even all the proposal are ready to be run.

Setahun yang dikatakan sebagai tahun peralihan, tahun 2022 membawa bersamanya pelbagai kenangan, suka-duka, pahit-manis, sedih-gembira. Semuanya selepas hampir 2 tahun berada dalam fenomena PANDEMIK COVID-19. Sepanjang tempoh itulah juga kami melakukan penyesuaian di sini dan hasilnya pelbagai rasa dapat dirasakan.
Sederhan itu Indah
Bersama sebahagian dari semuanya...katanya ini adalah hasil kejayaan bersama dan malam itu juga semua pulang dengan hadiah masing-masing dan kupunya no.10
Hari rabu, hari yang sibuk dengan aktiviti bukan pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Sebaliknya ia dicadangkan untuk aktiviti tambahan seperti mesyuarat, seminar, kemahasiswaan dan lain-lain. Dengan itu, sepatutnya aktiviti di bilik kuliah adalah terhad dan aktiviti lebih kepada PSIKOMOTOR.
Sesuatu yang berlainan kurasakan kesan berkali-kali cuti umum telah jatuh pada hari ahad yang menyebabkan cuti ganti pada hari Isnin. Maksudnya, hari bekerja hanyalah 4 hari sahaja dan tanpa selalu sedar masa berlalu dengan pantas. Tambahan pula, kegiatan di dewan kuliah perlu dibataskan dengan konsep hybrid.
Setahun berlalu lagi dengan rasa dan cerita yang tersendiri. Manusia dengan hidupnya ke sana ke sini untuk memenuhi tuntutan kehidupan, masing-masing dengan ceritanya sendiri. Namun pastinya akan ada persamaan antara satu sama lain, itulah caranya memahami kehidupan ini kerana pastinya semua menuju ke arah yang sama.
Bermula dengan bangun pagi, kemudian tengahari, kemudian petang, kemudian malam dan akhirnya pagi muncul semula. Kitaran itu menjadikan manusia berkembang, bermula di perut ibu kemudian lahir, kemudian bayi membesar menjadi kanak-kanak, menjadi remaja, menjadi belia, menjadi tua dan kemudian mencapai pengakhiran.
Dalam kitaran itulah, wujudnya pelbagai sistem dalam kehidupan yang saling melengkapi antara satu sama lain dan adakalanya sukar untuk dimengerti.
